About

I’m Norbert – barista, trainer, consultant, and the person behind JUNE AND JULY.

My love for coffee began in my youth in Tuscany, with my uncle, a true Italian. He often took me to small local cafés, where I discovered my passion for espresso and the Italian barista culture – the precision, the atmosphere, and the interplay of craftsmanship and human connection.

In 2009, I entered the world of specialty coffee in London, at a time when the pioneers of the scene were transforming the coffee world. Since then, my journey has taken me from London to Germany, projects in Moscow and Portugal – where I began roasting my own coffees in 2023 – and finally back to Bonn.

To me a sensory experience is so much more than just a great tasting product – it’s empathetic service, human connections and a mutual value exchange between us. I want to connect people, build relationships and make sure that everyone has access to great coffee. Quality, fair and sustainable supply chains and transparency are very important to me.

JUNE AND JULY is a small, independent roastery – run by just one person, but supported by many relationships. I stand behind the roaster myself because I want to stay close to every detail, every origin and every person who drinks my coffee. I am convinced that true quality comes from small structures, short distances and personal decisions.

All of my coffees meet the Specialty Coffee standard and are roasted the way I like them.
